ABS

ABS edgebandings are produced from a thermoplastic material named Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene.

ABS shares most of the characteristics of PVC, but ABS is of lighter composition (lower density) and does not include chlorine in its composition. ABS edgings are 100% recyclable and thermo-disposable.
All PROADEC ABS printed edgings are produced using an environment-friendly, VOC free, UV paint technology with excellent UV and scratch resistance. PROADEC edgings are free of plasticisers and lead. All raw materials used in our production process are of controlled origins and of certified quality being extensively controlled by specific testing procedures, based on the REACH program and according to our own internal strict specifications.

Paintable Edge

Primer-Coated Surface

Paintable is an edging specially designed to work out as a base to support painting, lacquering or gluing.

The main technical feature is a homogeneous adhesive primer coating applied on the surface of the edging, giving it the ideal adhesive properties to receive the final work.

Thicknesses from 0,40 mm up to 2 mm.

Possible to slit in various widths from jumbo rolls.

Available in plain colours.

Note: ABS Paintable edgings shall not be cleaned with solvents as edging would lose its properties.

Paintable Edge Tech

Innovative ABS Formulation

Painting damage in the milling radius can compromise the final quality of furniture components, leading to peeling, cracking and internal scrap.

Paintable Edge Tech Features a specially modified ABS material formulation with special additives, developed to improve paint and lacquer adhesion, even in the most critical area: the edge radius.

The result: Excellent adhesion, faster availability for further processing and greater production efficiency.

Plain colours, woodgrains and fantasies, in a variety of surface finishes.
Produced according to the calendering process, it is possible to supply different widths in the same order from jumbo rolls.

ProFlex

ProGloss

Edgings with a smooth and shiny surface with gloss level > 75º
Gloss level obtained during the extrusion process and without lacquer.

ProMatt

Ultra matt edgings featuring a sophisticated and velvet-smooth surface.

This sophisticated range of ultra matt edgebandings is the result of a high-grade lacquered finish together with an exclusive production process. Features a very low reflection surface and gloss level <4 GU. It differentiates from other matt options in the market for its ultra-velvety surface, and ultra-resistant to fingerprints, grease or dust, being very easy to clean.

It is high scratch resistant.

Thicknesses from 0,80 mm up to 1,3mm.

ProAlu

ABS edgings with real aluminium laminated on the surface.

A real aluminium foil is laminated to the surface of the ABS base edging. The adhesion of the aluminium foil to the substrate has been completely tested and is fully guaranteed.

Thicknesses from 0,50 mm up to 1,2 mm.

Possible to slit in various widths from jumbo rolls, with or without protective foil.

Note: Due to its lamination process, PROALU may leave a metallic seam line visible. Trimming and milling may not run so smoothly due the sharp ends of the aluminium foil. It is recommended the use of resistant (diamond) milling cutters.

ProFoil

ABS edgings with metallic coating on the surface

A layer containing real metallic particles is transferred to the surface of the ABS edging, completely covering the surface. The adhesion of the metallic particles to the substrate has been completely tested and is fully guaranteed. There is no metallic seam line visible. PROFOIL is formulated to prevent discoloration and to be resistant to external mechanical wear such as abrasion, scratches and chemical agents.

Thicknesses from 0,70 mm up to 1,2mm.

ProCork

ABS edgings with natural cork on the surface.

PROCORK consists of an ABS based edging with natural cork laminated on the surface, combining the green plastic ABS with the most extraordinary natural material: cork! This is an upmarket, fashionable and exclusive edging solution from PROADEC.

The adhesion of the cork foil to the ABS substrate has been completely tested and is fully guaranteed. The ABS base edging (produced according to high standards of quality and raw materials from controlled origins) is developed to match the shade of the cork so that the joint is almost imperceptible.

Thickness 1,2mm.

Widths from 22mm up to 100mm.
